dani coates

i am a nonbinary multimedia artist, working in all things from 3D collage to performance to jewelry making, and am engaging in an ongoing experiment with expressing different forms of queer intimacy using acrylic paint. i explore themes of pain and pleasure, self-acceptance, and the complex emotions that arise in experiencing relational change as a neurodivergent person. in my work, i aim to visually articulate my experiences in my queer body and how other people relate to it, deconstruct ideas of gender and beauty, and inspire people to think differently (and perhaps more colorfully) about the world they live in.
